Biden Narrows Gap With Trump in Battleground States

A recent poll indicates that President Joe Biden has narrowed the gap with former President Donald Trump in battleground states that could determine the election outcome.

The approval rating of Joe Biden has increased in six battleground states, according to a poll conducted by Bloomberg and Morning Consult between the 8th and 15th of the month. The poll surveyed 4,932 voters.

Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, Nevada, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin are the seven battleground states. President Biden has narrowed the gaps in six of the seven states, excluding Georgia.

He is gaining ground in the traditionally Democratic states of Wisconsin, Michigan, and Pennsylvania, known as the ‘blue wall.’

In Wisconsin, Biden was behind Trump by 4 percentage points last month. However, he has now taken the lead, ahead of Trump by 1 percentage point. In Michigan and Pennsylvania, the two candidates tied at 45%. In the previous month, Trump was ahead by 2 and 6 percentage points in these two states, respectively.

The gap in Nevada also narrowed from 6 percentage points to 2. Biden is slightly behind in Arizona and North Carolina, with Trump leading by 5 and 6 percentage points, respectively.

However, in Georgia, Trump’s lead increased by 1 percentage point, from 6 to 7 percentage points.

The margin of error in this survey is ±1 percentage point.

Bloomberg conducts monthly surveys in the battleground states, and their latest survey shows that Trump has been leading consistently for the past five months. However, Biden’s approval rating was the highest in this survey.

According to Bloomberg, it’s still too early to tell if Biden’s rise in approval ratings will be temporary or continue.

Looking at all seven battleground states, the support rate for the two-party matchup showed Trump at 47% and Biden at 43%.

In a multi-candidate election, Trump held a 43% lead, followed by Biden with 38%, Robert Kennedy Jr. with 9%, and Cornel West and Jill Stein with 1% each.
