In the upcoming November U.S. presidential election, the support rates for President Joe Biden and former President Donald Trump, who engaged in a ‘rematch,’ show a tight race. While President Biden holds a slight lead in a head-to-head matchup, recent polling suggests that former President Trump has a narrow advantage within the margin of error in a multi-candidate race.

According to the latest Quinnipiac poll reported by The Hill, a U.S. political news outlet on the 27th (local time), President Biden leads with 48% support in a head-to-head matchup, compared to former President Trump’s 45%.

In a poll conducted in February, President Biden had 49% support, while former President Trump had 45%.

President Biden has also been closing the gap with former President Trump in swing states, with indications of a reversal in Wisconsin.

However, in this recent poll, former President Trump leads with 39% in a multi-candidate race, edging ahead of former President Biden by 1 percentage point.

Independent candidate Robert Kennedy Jr. polled 13%, Jill Stein 4%, and Cornel West 3%.

While the Democratic Party criticizes Kennedy Jr. for potentially eroding President Biden’s support, Kennedy Jr. remains firm in his candidacy, even nominating Nicole Shanahan, the former wife of Google co-founder Sergey Brin, as his running mate.

This survey was conducted from the 21st to the 25th of this month, targeting 1407 registered voters nationwide. The margin of error is 2.6 percentage points.
