The U.S. House of Representatives passed a security budget of approximately $95 billion to support Ukraine, Israel, and Taiwan on the 20th.

The House approved a $60.8 billion support package for Ukraine in a plenary session, with 311 votes in favor and 112 against.

They also passed a $26.4 billion security support package for Israel, with 366 votes in favor and 58 against.

An $8.1 billion support package centered on Taiwan to strengthen the security of the United States Indo-Pacific allies and partners was also approved, with 385 votes in favor and 34 against.

President Joe Biden stated, “At this crucial juncture, the House members have responded to the call of history and processed the urgent national security legislation I have been fighting for months. It will be a decisive support for Israel and Ukraine.”

He added, “I urge the Senate to quickly send this package bill to my desk, for my signature, and into law so that we can get weapons and equipment to Ukraine quickly to meet their urgent needs on the battlefield.”

Previously, the Biden administration submitted a supplementary security budget of $105 billion to Congress that included aid to Israel, Ukraine, and Taiwan, as well as strengthening border security, following the outbreak of war between Israel and the Palestinian militant group Hamas in October last year.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy thanked the U.S. House of Representatives, both parties (Democrats and Republicans), and House Speaker Mike Johnson personally on social media X that day, who decided to move history in the right direction.
