The American economic magazine Forbes announced its list of the world’s youngest billionaires for 2024, attracting attention with two Korean sisters in their 20s making the list side by side.

They are Kim Jung Min (22), the eldest daughter, and Kim Jung Yeon (20), the second daughter of the late Kim Jung Ju, the founder of Nexon.

According to Forbes‘ World’s Youngest Billionaires for 2024 list, compiled based on the data from March 8 (local time) and announced on April 2, Jung Min and Jung Yeon were ranked fifth and third, respectively.

The net worth of the sisters this year is valued at $1.4 billion each, approximately.

Kim Jung Min, Kim Jung Youn, and Yoo Jung Hyun, the director of NXC (Nexon holding company) and wife of the founder Kim Jung Ju, inherited about $8.53 billion from Kim Jung Ju and declared $5.12 billion in inheritance tax (inheritance tax rate 60%).

In 2022, they paid the state 29.3% of NXC’s shares as inheritance tax.

Forbes describes Jung Min and Jung Yeon as “holding about 9% each of the online game company Nexon, established in 1994 by the deceased founder Kim Jung Ju, through the holding company NXC. They inherited the shares when their father died in 2002 at 54, though the sisters do not hold positions in the company.”

Meanwhile, the youngest billionaire is Liviah Boit (Brazil, 19), born in 2005. She is known as the heiress to WEG, the world’s largest electrical equipment manufacturer.

Additionally, American pop star Taylor Swift has made the New Billionaires of 2024 list, drawing interest. Swift’s fortune is estimated at $1.1 billion, making her the only artist to earn over a billion dollars from songs and performances alone.
