A troubling case of child abuse has surfaced in Hunan, China, where a nanny was caught on video mistreating an 8-month-old baby.

According to a report from China Network on the 30th, a video released by the baby’s family shows the nanny suddenly picking up the baby and forcefully throwing the baby into the air. The baby then hit its head hard on a mattress and began to cry out in pain.

A minute later, the nanny slapped the baby’s face and dragged it off the bed before throwing it onto the floor. The nanny then forcefully tossed the baby onto the mattress again. When asked by the baby’s mother why she did it, the nanny coldly responded, “I just threw the baby, that’s all.”

The nanny showed no remorse and refused to apologize when confronted by the police at the scene. She even stated that she would continue to work, which has sparked outrage among netizens.
