wikitree Views

The identity of the 20-something suspect in the Gangnam rooftop murder case has been confirmed as that of a medical student from a Seoul-based university. His personal information and photos are currently spreading like wildfire online.

Previously, on the 7th, the Seocho Police Station in Seoul announced that they had applied for an arrest warrant for the suspect, who was arrested on suspicion of murder. The suspect is accused of fatally stabbing his girlfriend of the same age on the rooftop of a 15-story building near Gangnam Station intersection in Seocho-dong, Seocho-gu, around 4 p.m. the day before.

The police received a report around 5:20 p.m. the same day that “a man is trying to jump off the rooftop” and rushed to the scene to apprehend the suspect. Afterward, they discovered the already deceased girlfriend while rechecking the scene based on the suspect’s statement that “he left a bag containing drugs.”

The police immediately arrested the suspect and brought him in for questioning.

Meanwhile, on the 7th, KBS reported that the man in question was a former perfect scorer on the college entrance exam and is currently a medical student at a university in Seoul. As his identity as a “perfect scorer medical student” was pinpointed, his face, name, and the school he is attending are currently spreading rapidly across various online communities.

According to Top Star News, photos of the suspect’s interview about his successful college entrance exam experience, based on his perfect score, have also been revealed. In addition, personal information about the suspect’s parents and other family members has been released, raising concerns about secondary damages.

Currently, posts related to the case are filled with comments such as “Physiognomy is real science.” “This guy is the killer?” “People found out about his past interview,” “What did his family and friends do wrong?” “Even his Instagram account was exposed,” “If only there weren’t a clue that he was a perfect scorer,’ and ‘Even his KakaoTalk was exposed.”
