President Yoon Suk Yeol will hold a summit with Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the President of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), on the 29th.

Kim Tae Hyo, the first deputy director of the National Security Office, announced in a briefing at the Presidential Office in Yongsan, South Korea, on the 23rd, “President Al Nahyan will be making a state visit to our country for two days, from the 28th to the 29th.” He added, “The two leaders will attend an official welcome ceremony, a summit, a signing ceremony for agreements and MOUs, and an official luncheon on the 29th.”

This is the first time the UAE President has visited South Korea.

The Presidential Office explained that they would welcome President Mohamed with the highest courtesy, befitting the first state visit by a UAE leader.

Deputy Director Kim said, “When the UAE President’s plane enters our air defense identification zone, four of our Air Force fighter jets will fly an escort flight,” and added, “At the official welcome ceremony on the 29th, the Air Force’s special flight team, the Black Eagles, will perform a celebratory flight, and about 100 people of traditional honor guards and marching band, 500 Akh Unit members, and 130 children’s welcoming party members will participate.”

During the summit, the two leaders plan to discuss four areas: traditional and clean energy, peaceful nuclear energy, economy and investment, and defense and defense technology.

Kim noted, “This state visit will breathe life into the new Middle East boom created by last year’s summit diplomacy in the Middle East.”

President Yoon made an unprecedented state visit to the UAE last January. During his summit with President Mohamed, he received an investment commitment of $30 billion.
