Kim Yo Jong, the Deputy Director of North Korea’s ruling Workers’ Party, issued a statement on Tuesday accusing South Korea of once again sending propaganda leaflets into North Korea’s border regions.
In a statement released through the Korean Central News Agency (KCNA), Kim said, “Various political propaganda leaflets and items sent by South Korean individuals have once again fallen in several areas near the southern border.”
She further explained that North Korean security forces were actively working to secure, search, and dispose of the materials. Kim strongly condemned South Korea for its actions, stating, “We strongly denounce the provocative acts of South Koreans, who once again scattered anti-Republic political propaganda, polluting our territory.”
On the same day, North Korea shared images it claimed showed balloons and paper leaflets, which they alleged were sent from South Korea.
