U.S. Army Strikes $4.5 Billion Deal with Lockheed Martin for Advanced Missile Defense

The U.S. Department of Defense announced on the 28th that the Army has signed a multi-year contract worth $4.5 billion for Lockheed Martin’s air defense Patriot missile system.

The Patriot system is one of the advanced air defense units provided to assist the West in countering Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.

This contract includes 870 PAC-3 MSE missiles and other related equipment.

The budget documents state that Lockheed Martin produces state-of-the-art interceptors armed with Patriots known as PAC-3 MSEs, each costing about $4 million.
