Rivian has launched the highly anticipated R1T and R1S California Dune Editions, inspired by the golden sands of California’s deserts. This limited edition release generates excitement due to its distinctive color scheme and powerful off-road features.

Design and Features

The vehicles sport a unique color scheme that evokes the golden sands of California’s deserts. They are also complemented by an array of off-road-ready features.

The exterior blends well with the black-point design elements, and the 20-inch exclusive wheels, which match the body color, are available in satin graphite or California Dune.

An all-terrain package features under-body protection and an onboard air compressor. The roof has crossbars and MaxTrax recovery boards for serious off-road adventures.

Specifically, the R1T model includes a spare tire and a power tonneau cover, which has improved practicality.

The interior is decorated with Chilewich floor mats, dark ash wood trim, sandstone, and black mountain seats to create an opulent atmosphere. The harmonious combination of functionality and elegant design ensures comfort even when driving off-road.

Performance and Powertrain

The powertrain packs a punch under the hood. With a single front motor and dual rear motors, this electric beast generates 850 horsepower and 1,124 lb-ft of torque.

US Environmental Protection Agency standards show it can travel approximately 329 miles on a single charge when equipped with a Max battery. This impressive figure outperforms competitors like the Hyundai Ioniq 5 and Kia EV6, which typically achieve 300-310 miles under WLTP standards. This showcases Rivian’s commitment to both performance and efficiency.

Reaching 60 miles per hour from a stop takes just 2.9 seconds, demonstrating the electric vehicles’ remarkable acceleration capabilities.

Pricing and Availability

The R1T California Dune Edition starts at $99,900, while the R1S variant starts at $105,900. Rivian is now accepting pre-orders, and deliveries are expected to commence in 1 to 6 weeks.

This limited-edition model is noteworthy because it combines electric vehicle innovation with potent off-road performance. Rivian uses technology and design inspired by nature to create a unique electric vehicle market.
