According to InsideEVs, the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) conducted crash tests on the 2024 Tesla Cybertruck. It received the highest rating of 5 stars in both frontal and side crash categories. However, it received 4 stars in the rollover resistance evaluation, and the final overall safety rating was confirmed as 5 stars.

NHTSA’s crash tests evaluate vehicles based on three categories: frontal crash, side crash, and rollover resistance. The frontal crash test involves a vehicle traveling at 35 mph (approximately 56 km/h) colliding with a solid barrier, assessing the safety of the driver and front passenger.

The side crash test evaluates the vehicle’s ability to protect occupants from side impacts. The rollover test measures the degree to which a vehicle tilts during dynamic driving, and the Cybertruck’s rollover risk was assessed at 12.4%.

This evaluation marks the first publicly released crash test results since the Cybertruck’s launch in November 2023. This proves that Tesla has maintained its high safety standards with this latest model, as it has done with previous models.

Meanwhile, all Tesla vehicles tested by NHTSA have reportedly received the highest safety ratings.
