A deepfake video of North Korean leader Kim Jong Un singing G-Dragon’s latest hit, “POWER,” has taken the internet by storm. This viral sensation follows on the heels of another parody video featuring BLACKPINK’s Rosé and Bruno Mars’ “Apartment (APT)” that racked up an impressive 5.5 million views. The YouTube channel “Martian Real Doji” recently uploaded their new video, “Pig Dragon – POWER,” which is nearing half a million views in just 48 hours.

Using cutting-edge AI technology, the video recreates Kim Jong Un’s likeness and voice, giving the impression that he’s performing the song himself. The parody cleverly twists G-Dragon’s original lyrics, “I got the power, the power power up,” into “Rocket power, step on with provocation, step on with your foot.” Another line, “Shout out while spreading memes,” becomes “Spread all kinds of stuff while shouting.”

This follows another viral hit that satirized North Korea’s missile tests and the deployment of its troops to Russia. That video also used AI to mimic the voices of North Korean state broadcaster Ri Chun Hee, Kim Yo Jong (sister of Kim Jong Un and a high-ranking party official), and Kim Jong Un himself.

The comment section is buzzing with reactions. One viewer joked, “It’s topping the charts in North Korea’s Aoji region!” Another suggested, “They should blast this on loudspeakers at the border every day.” Many praised the uncanny vocal similarity to the original, while some saw it as a triumph of free speech, declaring, “Now this is what true democracy looks like!”
