An additional note has been found on the body of an alleged North Korean soldier deployed to Russia.

On Thursday, the Ukrainian Special Operations Forces revealed a handwritten note in Korean on graph paper. The note outlined tactical instructions: “When a drone is detected, form a three-person team. One soldier acts as bait to lure the drone, while the other two are responsible for firing.” It further advised, “When the drone focuses on the decoy soldier, he should stop moving. This is the moment to open fire.”

While releasing the images, Ukrainian military officials commented, “At this point, it’s unclear whether this is a North Korean army tactic or if Russian forces trained them this way.” They emphasized, “It’s certain that it’s a strategy using a human as live bait.”

The note also details methods for escaping the range of Ukrainian artillery fire.

According to the note, North Korean troops seem to employ evasion tactics, such as separating into small groups and regrouping at predetermined rally points. They also use former Ukrainian firing locations as shelter to avoid the threat, exploiting the tendency of artillery units to avoid reusing firing positions.

On Wednesday, the Ukrainian Special Operations Forces discovered and released a handwritten note beginning with “Dear Joseon” and the passport of a soldier presumed to be Jeong Kyung Hong in Russia’s Kursk region.

The note said, “Celebrating the birthday in Russia of my friendliest comrade Song Ji Myung, who left the arms of his loving father and mother.”
