BLACKPINK member Jisoo announced the establishment of her label, BLISSOO, signaling the start of her independent activities.

Jisoo shared, “I am starting new with my new label, BLISSOO,” on social media this February 21.

She added, “I’d appreciate your support as I build BLISSOO from the ground up. I will do my best to continue to share happiness with all of you. Thank you for continuing to support me and BLACKPINK.”

BLISOO is known to be a startup company established by BioMom, a children’s health functional food brand represented by Jisoo’s older brother.

BLISSOO was established under Jisoo’s older brother’s startup company BioMom, a children’s functional health food brand.

Following the announcement, Jisoo revealed new headshots with the launch of BLISSOO’s official website.

The website states, “BLISSOO, Jisoo’s label, is a combination of ‘BLISS’, the utmost happiness, and ‘JISOO’, who has the gift of charm among her fans. Please join us on a journey of happiness and discovery as she explores new possibilities beyond genres and fields.”

Jisoo is the third member of BLACKPINK to establish an independent label.

Last November, Jennie shared the launch of her label ODD ATELIER. Lisa also announced the launch of her label LLOUD on February 8. Rosé is also preparing to launch her independent label.

Debuting in August 2016, BLACK PINK ended its exclusive contract with YG Entertainment. Various speculations, such as disbandment and individual contracts, were rampant as YG Entertainment was reserved to release a statement concerning their contract renewal.

Last December, YG announced, “After careful discussions with BLACKPINK, we agreed to sign an exclusive contract for group activities based on deep trust.”

YG’s executive producer, Yang Hyun Suk, said, “I’m happy to continue our relationship with BLACKPINK. We will do our best to support BLACKPINK so that they can continue to shine bright in the global music industry as artists representing Kpop, and send our unwavering support in their future endeavors.”

Solo activities will be done independently through their established labels.
