BLACKPINK’s “Shut Down” music video just smashed through 600 million views on YouTube. The song is the lead single from their second studio album.

On March 21st, YG Entertainment announced that BLACKPINK’s “Shut Down” music video surpassed 600 million views on YouTube. The video debuted on September 16th, 2022, reaching this milestone in about a year and a half. This marks BLACKPINK’s 15th music video to hit the 600 million view mark.

“Shut Down” wasn’t just a song; it was a visual spectacle. Boasting the highest production cost in YG’s history, the music video stunned viewers with its massive sets, eye-catching visuals, and clever references to BLACKPINK’s past hits. The song also shattered records, becoming the first K-pop track to top the weekly chart on Spotify.

With 45 music videos surpassing 100 million views on YouTube, BLACKPINK solidifies its reign as “YouTube Queens.” Their content boasts a mind-blowing 35.2 billion cumulative views, and their official channel boasts 93.2 million subscribers, solidifying their position as the most subscribed artist globally.

Last year, BLACKPINK completed their largest-scale world tour, BORN PINK, spanning 34 cities and 66 performances.
