From Idol to Bride: Nishino Nanase’s Fairytale Romance

Nishino Nanase, once a sweeping idol across Japan as a member of the idol group Nogizaka46, has married. Born in May 1994, Nishino Nanase married Yamada Yuki, who was four years older than her, before her 30th birthday. Being close in age, the couple’s marriage has received considerable congratulations from those around them.

Nishino Nanase and Yamada Yuki first became a topic of interest when their romance was rumored in July 2023. The two had appeared together in the drama Police in a Pod. In this work, Yamada Yuki played Detective Yamada Takeshi, and Nishino Nanase played the quirky rookie police officer Makitaka Miwa. They first coordinated their performances in this production.

Interestingly, in a spinoff of the drama, a scene features Yamada falling for Makitaka. It was Yamada Yuki who made the first move. Their initial meeting took place on NHK’s skit show LIFE! According to sources, the two grew closer through their shared interest in gaming.

Yamada Yuki reportedly obtained Nishino Nanase’s phone number through acquaintances and started dating. Although the couple has not yet held a wedding ceremony, they began living together after Yamada submitted a marriage registration at the local city office. Yamada Yuki has discussed the marriage on his late-night radio program.

Nishino Nanase was a core member of the national idol group Nogizaka46, known for her perfect beauty that matched the term beautiful girl and received nationwide love. Yamada Yuki felt pressured to announce the marriage, given her popularity. After announcing it, Yamada said he was pleased to receive many congratulations.

The newlyweds showed a cute side, sharing that they were so happy they cried together at home. Nishino Nanase was an influential member during her time with Nogizaka46, and her influence continues even after graduating from the idol group in 2019. Now fully pursuing a career as an actress, Nishino Nanase is demonstrating tremendous power.

She has been cast in several movies and dramas, appearing in at least ten dramas and three films in 2023 alone. In 2022, she solidified her position as an actress by winning the Excellent Supporting Actress Award and the Newcomer Award at the Japan Academy Prize. She continues to shine as a top star in singing, acting, and modeling.

Five years after graduating from the idol group, Nishino Nanase has announced her marriage and continues to be active this year. She has appeared in the drama Ooku and the films Aru Tozasareta Yuki no Sanso de, 52 Hertz Whales, and Abudeka Is Back.
