Jin, the eldest member of the K-POP boy band BTS, is set to finish his military service of approximately 1 year and 6 months.

News1

BTS member Jin, who enlisted in December 2022, has served as an Army instructor at the Key Recruit Training Center of the 5th Infantry Division in Yeoncheon, Gyeonggi-do.

During his service, Jin was selected as a special warrior for his exemplary military life and was even promoted early to corporal.

Jin is expected to step out of the base around 8 AM on June 12.

His agency, BigHit Music, has requested fans to refrain from visiting the site on the day of his discharge.

However, some fans continue to celebrate Jin’s return by displaying various banners in front of the base.

Police and fire personnel have also been deployed as a security measure.

Notably, foreign media from countries like Japan have also shown up on-site to cover the news of Jin’s discharge.

Jin is the first to be discharged among the BTS members.

J-Hope is also expected to be discharged next in October of this year.

The rest of the members are still serving their active duty.

Jin plans to meet fans at the 2024 Festa event held at the Jamsil Indoor Stadium in Seoul the day after his discharge, on June 13.

During the first part of the event, he will hug 1,000 lucky fans, followed by a communication session with fans in the second part.

Seoul Mayor Oh Se Hoon congratulated Jin on his discharge, praising BTS members for setting an example by enlisting in active duty without any special privileges.

All seven members of BTS have shown exemplary conduct by serving as active-duty soldiers.

Jin’s discharge marks the beginning of the group’s return.
