The eldest member of BTS has completed his mandatory military service amidst the warm congratulations of his fellow members.

Jin was discharged from the Army’s 5th Infantry Division Recruit Training Center at around 8:50 AM on June 12.

Jin enlisted in the active duty army on December 13, 2022, making him the first among the members to start his military service. After serving diligently as an instructor at the 5th Division Recruit Training Center, he has safely returned to society after completing 18 months of military life.

BTS members RM, J-Hope, Jimin, V, and Jungkook visited the 5th Infantry Division to celebrate Jin’s discharge. Suga was not in attendance as he is currently serving as a social service worker.

RM, J-Hope, and V dressed in casual clothes, while Jimin and Jungkook wore military uniforms. They reportedly took a day off to celebrate their eldest member’s return to society.

Particularly, RM, who is serving in the military band, drew attention by playing the saxophone quietly beside Jin. While the other members hugged and greeted Jin, RM continued to play a fanfare in celebration.

Jin completed his discharge ceremony by saluting reporters gathered at the main gate. He then waved to the fans who had arrived early at the gate and left with his fellow members in a vehicle.

Many ARMYs (BTS fan club name) welcomed Jin with balloons and banners instead of visiting the gate in person.

News1

BTS’ agency, Big Hit Music, had asked fans to refrain from visiting the site to prevent accidents due to congestion. However, some foreign fans visited the gate to see Jin’s discharge in person.

After fulfilling his military duty, Jin will start his activities on the 13th with the 2024 Festa event at the Jamsil Indoor Stadium in Seoul. Festa is an annual event where BTS celebrates their debut anniversary with fans.
