iPhone 15 on sale in China just a month after release
Sales decreased compared to previous models competing with Huawei products
The lowest price for Apple’s iPhone 15 appears to be in China.
A month after Apple released the iPhone 15 series, reports indicated that official online malls in China started selling it.
According to the Hong Kong media South China Morning Post and others on the 23rd, the Chinese site Jingdong.com is selling the 512GB iPhone 15 for 7498 yuan ($1,180), 510 yuan ($80) less than the official Apple price of 8999 yuan ($1,420).
The Chinese site Pinduoduo is selling the 1238GB iPhone 15 Plus for 6098 yuan ($960), 900 yuan ($140) cheaper than the official Apple price of 6999 yuan ($1,100). Alibaba is selling the 512GB iPhone 15 Pro Max for 10,698 yuan ($1,680), lower than the price of 11,999 yuan ($1,890).
This is because the sales volume of the iPhone 15 series in the Chinese market has decreased compared to the previous iPhone 14 series. The sales volume of the iPhone 15 series has reduced as the sales volume of the Mate 60, recently released by Huawei, has increased.
According to the market research firm Counterpoint Research, the sales volume in China in the first two weeks after the release of the iPhone 15 series decreased by 4.5% compared to the sales volume after the release of the iPhone 14.
In a report, investment bank Jefferies analyzed that the iPhone 15 series is expected to experience a double-digit sales decrease in China.
