Is this the end of the popular girl group Red Velvet’s (Irene, Seulgi, Wendy, Joy, Yeri) official activities?

Recently, Red Velvet changed their official social network account name to Happy Ending. The previous name was Red Velvet Official. They’ve also deleted all highlight video clips, causing fans to worry that this might hint at the end of Red Velvet.

Group Red Velvet debuted in 2014 and is celebrating their 9th anniversary this year. Despite surpassing the ‘seven-year curse,’ only Seulgi of the group has been reported to have re-signed with SM Entertainment (SM). There has been no news of a full group re-signing. About this, one media reported that the group’s leader, Irene, has not re-signed, making it uncertain whether the group’s activities will continue. SM has not given a clear answer to questions about contract renewals.

Meanwhile, Red Velvet is returning on the 13th with their third full album, Chill Kill. This is their first full album in about six years since Perfect Velvet was released in November 2017, raising the anticipation of many fans.

The title track “Chill Kill” is a pop dance song centered around bold bass moving, string melodies, and glamorous and dreamy synth and bell sounds. It unfolds uniquely with a dramatic and irregular harmony. The lyrics contain a narrative of a love turned upside down by the sudden appearance of Chill Kill.
