A citizen dressed as Spider-Man appeared at Seoul’s Jamsil Station on Subway Line 2, subdued a homeless man who was threatening to assault a station employee, and then calmly disappeared, sparking a lot of discussion.

On the 12th, posts on social media stating, “I saw Spider-Man. Spider-Man is stopping a fight,” created a buzz.

The Seoul Metropolitan Rapid Transit Corporation stated, “On the 11th at around 9:10 pm at Jamsil Station, when a station employee tried to escort out homeless person A, A suddenly threatened the station employee by swinging his fist.”

According to eyewitness accounts, citizen B, dressed as Spider-Man, suddenly appeared and grabbed the hand of A, who was threatening to assault. Even though A yelled, “Let go of this,” B didn’t back down and calmed A down by saying, “Calm down.”

Notably, A drew attention by looking like he was dancing while B. restrained both his hands. After continuing to argue with B, A was eventually forcibly removed from the station by the police.

Netizens reacted by saying, “My friend met Spider-Man at Jamsil Station and asked if he could take a picture, and he responded ‘Oh, of course,'” and “A hero has appeared in Seoul,” expressing their surprise.

While B’s identity has not been fully revealed yet, an anonymous netizen who claimed to be ‘Spider-Man’ on SNS explained the situation: “I wanted to create memories by taking pictures in Jamsil, where many children come on the weekend. I just stopped it so it wouldn’t escalate into a bigger fight when the police said they would take about 10 minutes.”
