A car previously owned by Jung Kook, a member of the group BTS, which gained fame after being auctioned for 1.2 billion won ($1 million) on an online auction site a year ago, has reappeared on the used car market. The car was not put up for sale due to the personal circumstances of the successful bidder, but it was known that the auction itself was invalidated.

On the 8th, a post regarding selling the Mercedes 3rd Generation G63 AMG Edition, known as “G-Wagon,” was posted on the Bobaedream Cyberstore, a used car trading site. This car is the Edition trim, sold as a limited edition for 239.6 million won ($200,000) at its domestic release.

This car became an issue when submitted to a Seoul Auction in December 2022. It was reported that Jung Kook purchased the car under his name in September 2019 and owned it for over two years before transferring it to a collector. The starting bid was 150 million won ($125,000), but it was auctioned for 1.2 billion won ($1 million).

About three and a half months after the auction, it was listed for sale on Bobaedream in March last year. Some reports followed that the car owner, the successful bidder at the auction, put it up for sale due to personal circumstances.

Then, about 11 months later, it reappeared on Bobaedream. The seller set the desired selling price at 600 million won ($500,000).

Dealer Mr. Kim, who listed the car on Bobaedream, explained in a call with Wikitree, “As far as I know, the auction itself was invalidated because it was auctioned to a person who was not identified. I currently own the car under the company’s name.”

The car’s information includes a description stating, “The car has been driven 13,000km (approximately 8,078 miles) without an accident and has neatly managed interior and exterior”.
