On November 5th (local time), President Joe Biden and former President Donald Trump, who are expected to compete again in the U.S. election, are winning in the Democratic and Republican primaries held in each state of the U.S.

President Biden secured victories in six states, including the Iowa Caucus, Virginia, Vermont, North Carolina, Tennessee, and Oklahoma primaries, based on early voting results of the “Super Tuesday” election held in 15 states and American Samoa, according to AP and The New York Times (NYT).

While President Biden is expected to win in all the elections held today, it is noteworthy how much the “uncommitted” vote, reflecting internal criticism of President Biden within the Democratic Party, would be. In the Michigan primary held on the 27th of last month, “uncommitted” accounted for 3.2%, or 101,394 votes, making the Biden camp nervous.

Former President Trump won over former UN Ambassador Nikki Haley in the Virginia, North Carolina, Tennessee, and Oklahoma primaries, with the vote counting still underway in the elections held in 15 states today, as reported by AP.

In today’s elections, the Trump camp is expected to secure over 90% of the total 854 delegates, amounting to 773. Despite today’s results, former Ambassador Haley plans to continue the election.

AP analyzed that former President Trump could secure most of the delegates needed for the nomination as early as “Super Tuesday.” In contrast, President Biden could secure most of the delegates needed for the nomination on the 19th, when elections are held in Georgia, Hawaii, Mississippi, and Washington.
