The ceremony was presided over by Singapore’s Prime Minister and Minister for Finance Lawrence Wong, alongside Minister for Sustainability and the Environment and Minister-in-charge of Trade Relations Grace Fu. Representing Las Vegas Sands were co-founder Dr. Miriam Adelson, Chairman and CEO Robert Goldstein, and President and COO Patrick Dumont.
Robert Goldstein, Chairman and CEO of Las Vegas Sands, reflected on the company’s journey: “When we opened Marina Bay Sands in 2010, our founder Sheldon G. Adelson set out to revolutionize tourism in the region. Fifteen years later, we’ve not only met but exceeded those ambitions. Marina Bay Sands has become the world’s most successful integrated resort and the industry gold standard. It’s been incredible to see Mr. Adelson’s vision come to life, and we’re honored to carry his legacy forward with this new development. Our goal is to create a destination that will be the envy of the hospitality industry and usher in a new era of luxury tourism in Singapore.”
Upon completion, the new development is poised to redefine luxury tourism, hospitality, and entertainment, offering an unparalleled suite of experiences for discerning travelers.
The project will feature a towering 570-suite luxury hotel crowned with signature rooftop dining experiences. It will also house high-end retail boutiques, gaming facilities, a holistic spa and wellness center, and approximately 200,000 square feet of premium meeting space. A centerpiece of the development is a purpose-built 15,000-seat arena, designed to elevate Asia’s live entertainment scene against the stunning backdrop of Marina Bay.
The acclaimed Safdie Architects, led by Moshe Safdie – the visionary firm behind Marina Bay Sands’ iconic design – will once again showcase their engineering prowess in this new property.

A World Beyond
The 55-story hotel tower, rotated at a 45-degree angle, will offer panoramic views of both Marina Bay and the Singapore Strait. Its twin wings curve outward as they rise, creating a striking silhouette against the sky.
Drawing inspiration from Singapore’s lush urban landscape, the development will incorporate biophilic design elements throughout, with a significant emphasis on green spaces and amenities.
The crowning glory of the hotel tower is the innovative 76,000-square-foot Skyloop, an architectural marvel that seamlessly blends public and private elevated spaces.
Complementing the iconic Sands SkyPark at Marina Bay Sands, the Skyloop’s design features interlocking elliptical volumes that spiral in opposite directions, lending the tower a dynamic quality and offering 360-degree views. The lower Skyloop will house public attractions including an observatory, destination restaurants, and verdant rooftop gardens. Hotel guests will enjoy exclusive amenities above, including private cabanas, infinity-edge pools, and palm-shaded retreats. A cantilevered wellness terrace will host yoga sessions, art events, and specialty gatherings.
Adjacent to the hotel tower, the podium will serve as a vibrant hub for business, entertainment, and cultural exchange. At its heart lies a state-of-the-art 15,000-seat arena designed by global firm Populous, renowned for creating world-class venues like the Sphere in Las Vegas and London’s O2 Arena.
This cutting-edge venue is specially designed to host top-tier regional and international acts, concerts, and large-scale events, with optimized acoustics, sightlines, and production flexibility.
The arena will be seamlessly integrated with existing and new developments in the Marina Bay area, enhancing efficiency and pedestrian flow. It will offer direct access to Bayfront MRT station and connect Marina Bay with Gardens by the Bay.
The groundbreaking event drew over 220 guests and featured captivating performances by local artist Jasmine Sokko and Canadian multi-talented musician Henry Lau. Attendees were treated to a curated culinary experience from Marina Bay Sands’ signature restaurants, including a preview of the upcoming Cantonese restaurant Jin Ting Wan.
To commemorate the occasion, Marina Bay Sands was bathed in golden light, creating a stunning spectacle that encompassed the entire property from its three towers and SkyPark Observation Deck to the Expo & Convention Centre.
In celebration of Singapore’s 60th anniversary, Marina Bay Sands commissioned a cinematic tribute to the nation. Titled Nothing Comes by Chance, the film by local director Kirsten Tan explores Singapore’s commitment to shaping a bright future. It highlights the country’s resilience, ambition, and spirit of reinvention – qualities that mirror Marina Bay Sands’ own growth and ethos. The film features prominent Singaporean talents who have helped establish the nation’s global presence in arts, culture, sports, and entertainment, including Tan Kheng Hua, Quah Zheng Wen, Pierre Png, and Jasmine Sokko.
Shaping a Greener Horizon
In line with Marina Bay Sands’ global Sands ECO360 strategy, sustainability will be at the core of the new building’s design and operations.
The project explores innovative approaches to enhance guest comfort while reducing energy consumption. These include a self-shading façade system with high-performance glazing and internal blinds to minimize solar heat gain and improve energy efficiency. Each suite will feature a private terrace and garden, while outdoor dining areas will be equipped with protective canopies. The landscaping will prioritize tree species native to Southeast Asia, paying homage to the development’s prime location.
As construction progresses, the project will implement best practices to minimize its environmental impact. This includes using low-carbon concrete and recycled steel, as well as implementing a comprehensive waste management plan. The goal is to divert at least 75 percent of construction waste from landfills through on-site segregation and recycling.
Towards New Heights
Since its inception, Marina Bay Sands has become an iconic symbol of Singapore, transforming the nation’s tourism landscape. It has established itself as a premier destination for leisure, business, and entertainment in Asia. Last year, it hosted a record-breaking 2,200 events, attracting 1.2 million MICE delegates. This March, the property welcomed its 500 millionth visitor.
The integrated resort directly employs over 12,000 team members and directed 92 percent of its procurement spending to local businesses in 2024. These figures are expected to grow as Marina Bay Sands expands its Singapore operations.
Patrick Dumont, President and COO of Las Vegas Sands, emphasized the company’s commitment: “Marina Bay Sands has been instrumental in solidifying Singapore’s position as a major tourism powerhouse. By the time our new ultra-luxury development is complete, Las Vegas Sands will have invested more than $15 billion in Singapore since 2010. This underscores our confidence in the region and Singapore’s enduring potential.”
“We’ve benefited greatly from Singapore’s excellent infrastructure and the government’s strong, forward-looking vision over the past 15 years.”
Dumont added, “We’re proud of Marina Bay Sands’ transformative impact and are optimistic about building on this strong foundation. Our new development will set new global standards in ultra-luxury hospitality, driving high-value tourism growth. Our state-of-the-art arena will attract world-class performers, ushering in a new era of live entertainment for the region. We’re excited to embark on this new chapter and continue contributing meaningfully to Singapore’s future success.”
