(YouTube)Local YouTube streamer Jo Seong-geun posted a video on Friday documenting his dramatic rescue of a dog during recent torrential rains that flooded several towns in South Chungcheong Province.

Jo, who goes by the online moniker “aegyeon” (dog lover), visited Seosan and Asan in South Chungcheong Province, which were among the hardest-hit areas in the country. While exploring a rural part of Asan, he encountered a dog tethered to a partially submerged makeshift structure.

Initially, Jo didn’t spot the dog, which began thrashing frantically upon noticing him. The canine caught Jo’s attention by emitting a high-pitched squeal.

Ultimately, Jo waded into the floodwaters and retrieved the dog, which exhibited bloodshot eyes and signs of hypothermia.

Cradling the dog in his arms, Jo removed the collar that had nearly strangled it. With assistance from a local resident who tossed them a rope, the pair managed to reach safety.

In a message at the video’s conclusion, Jo informed his audience that the dog had received medical attention and was recuperating. He provided his contact information and stated he was seeking to locate the dog’s owner. The animal was found in fields near the Yeomchi Post Office in Yeomseong-ri village, Asan.
