The summer routes are reopening to mark the 100th anniversary of the railroad’s construction. The company will feature both panoramic-view trains and charter services. Alaska Railroad Marketing Communications Manager Meghan Clemens said, “We’re excited to return to a full season of daily summer trains to give our guests more opportunities and flexibility to get out and travel Alaska.”

The Alaska Railroad travels throughout the state, including through national forests, which are only accessible by train. Passengers can spot eagles, whales, and other wildlife from Anchorage to Seward along the route. Also, the train stops at Denali National Park, a top tourist destination featuring North America’s highest peak, Mount McKinley. Visitors can enjoy views of Mount McKinley, its surrounding mountains, glaciers, and wildlife, such as bears, caribou, and goats.
