A 102-year-old British World War II veteran celebrated her birthday by skydiving.

According to The Guardian, Manette Baillie marked her 102nd birthday on Sunday by jumping from 2,100 meters (about 7,000 feet) with a safety harness. This feat raised over £10,000 (approximately $12,500) for local charities.

Baillie served in the Women’s Royal Naval Service during World War II. In May 2017, she set a British record for the oldest skydiver at 101 years and 38 days, surpassing the previous record held by Verden Hayes.

She said she was inspired to take on the challenge after hearing about a friend’s father, who skydived at age 85.

In an interview with BBC Radio, she remarked, “If an 85-year-old man can do it, so can I.”

Baillie credits her long and healthy life to staying active in her community, maintaining friendships, and connecting with people. She advised, “Keep busy, be interested in everything, be kind to those around you, and let them be kind to you. “And don’t forget to party.”
