Is the Fed to Blame? U.S. Lawmaker Proposes Bold Move to Abolish Central Bank

A hardline U.S. Congressman has proposed a bill to abolish the Federal Reserve (Fed), blaming it for the country’s inflation.

According to Fox News on the 20th (local time), Republican Congressman Thomas Massie (Kentucky) recently introduced legislation to dismantle the Fed’s Board of Governors and the Federal Reserve, stating that “the U.S. is suffering from severe inflation.”

Twenty colleagues, including Marjorie Taylor Greene (Georgia) and Matt Gaetz (Florida), who are classified as pro-Trump and far-right within the Republican Party, joined as co-sponsors of the bill.

However, the bill is unlikely to pass both the Senate and the House, considering the Fed’s 110-year history as the U.S. central bank.
