Democrats have strongly criticized Musk, arguing that he is wielding excessive political power despite not being elected. Senator Chris Coons (D-Delaware), a close ally of President Joe Biden, highlighted in a CNN interview that Musk’s intervention resulted in the removal of provisions in the budget aimed at restricting U.S. companies’ investments in China. Coons also raised concerns about potential conflicts of interest with Musk’s business dealings.
Some claimed that regulations addressing AI-generated revenge pornography were removed from the budget due to Musk’s political influence.
