BLACKPINK Jisoo will reportedly be the female lead in an upcoming zombie-thriller K-Drama.

On the 31st, YTN Star exclusively reported the news of singer Jisoo’s participation in a zombie-themed project. According to the outlet, Jisoo has been cast as the lead in the new drama Influenza by Coupang Play alongside actor Park Jung Min. The work is a new piece by Han Jin Won, the writer of the movie Parasite.

According to the report, Influenza is set against the backdrop of a high-rise building civil defense unit in Seoul.

This work depicts the process of soldier Jae Yoon and his girlfriend Young Joo, fighting against a zombie horde and running towards each other. It is based on the eponymous novel by Han Sang Woon.

Already, there is great anticipation for this new K-zombie content.

In this movie, Jisoo plays Young Ju, a recent graduate struggling to adapt to society.

She struggles with Jae Yoon, who doesn’t understand her feelings, and eventually breaks up. While trying to meet her boyfriend, she discovers the outbreak of zombies and transforms as she fights for survival.

Park Jung Min appears as Jae Yoon, who, at the age of 26, enlists in the military after aiming for a substitute military service due to his employment in the defense industry. Initially weak and lacking confidence, he becomes a leader within his unit as he battles against the zombie outbreak.

Regarding this report, a representative from Park Jung Min’s agency, Sam Company, stated that Influenza is one of the works under consideration for his appearance.

As news of Jisoo’s challenge in a zombie-themed project spread, netizens couldn’t hide their excitement.

Born in 1995, Jisoo is the lead vocalist in BLACKPINK. She is juggling activities as a singer and an actress. From December 2021 to January 2022, she appeared as Eun Young in the JTBC weekend drama Snowdrop.
