Netflix Reveals Sneak Peek of ‘Squid Game’ Season 2 Footage

[JoyNews24, Reporter Park Jin-young] Netflix has confirmed the release of the second season of “Squid Game” in 2024 through “Next On Netflix,” a preview of its 2024 lineup, and has released the first still.

The Netflix series “Squid Game,” which tells the story of people risking their lives to become the ultimate winner in a mysterious survival game with prize money of 45.6 billion won (approximately $34 million), is set to return for its second season in 2024.

The second season, which will return amidst global interest, begins with Gi Hun (Lee Jung Jae), who gave up going to the United States, returning with his own purpose.

The four still images released together provoke curiosity about what exciting stories the “Squid Game,” which caused a global syndrome, will unfold in its second season. The intense appearances of the actors who have received huge love from the first season as characters Gi Hun (Lee Jung Jae), Frontman (Lee Byung Hun), and Card Guy (Gong Yoo) catch the eye, while there is also keen interest in the character of Park Gyu Young, who will make her first appearance in the new season.

The second season of “Squid Game” is expected to present another astonishing story that will captivate the world, directed, written, and produced by Hwang Dong-hyuk, who made history by winning the Best Director award at the 74th Primetime Emmy® Awards, the first Asian to do so.

The anticipation for the second season is heightened with the return of Lee Jung Jae, Lee Byung Hun, Wi Ha Jun, Gong Yoo from the first season, as well as the addition of a strong cast including Im Si Wan, Kang Ha Neul, Park Gyu Young, Lee Jin Wook, Park Sung Hoon, Yang Dong Heun, Kang Ae Shim, Lee Da Wit, Choi Seung Hyun, No Jae Won, Jo Yu Ri, and Won Ji An, and the introduction of new and diverse characters they will portray.
