Since former Syrian President Bashar al-Assad fled to Russia and relinquished power, rebel forces and civilians have been uncovering hidden secrets from his lavish palace in Damascus. Among the discoveries, a collection of rare and luxurious supercars has captured global attention, offering a glimpse into the extravagant lifestyle of the embattled dictator.

Videos from the palace reveal a parking lot filled with ultra-expensive cars, some rarely seen in Syria. Notable sightings include a red Lamborghini LM 002 parked alongside a Lexus LX and a Toyota pickup truck. Other high-end models, such as the Mercedes S-Class and the Aston Martin Rapide, were also prominently displayed.

Supercars Worth Millions

The collection doesn’t stop there. Footage also revealed even rarer vehicles, including a Ferrari F50 and F430, parked next to a red Lamborghini Diablo. These high-performance supercars are considered prized possessions among car enthusiasts and are virtually unheard of in Syria’s war-torn economy.

Additional vehicles spotted included Audi R8s, Mercedes SL-Class models, and Bentley Continental GTs. While some cars appeared inoperable, others seemed ready to drive, awaiting only the retrieval of their keys.

A Stark Symbol of Inequality

This collection of vehicles vividly illustrates the wealth enjoyed by the Syrian dictator and the disparity between the rich and poor in Syria. The Ferrari F50 alone is worth hundreds of thousands of dollars, while other items include luxury handbags, jewelry, and expensive knickknacks.

The discovery symbolizes Syria’s deep inequality. Although it is unclear what will happen to these vehicles, they represent an important aspect of Syria’s modern history.
