Turkish Airlines Now the World’s Largest Airline by Country Reach, According to Guinness

Since 2012, Turkish Airlines has held the title of the “airline serving the most countries worldwide,” and now it has been officially recognized by Guinness World Records. The airline has achieved the record for “Most Countries Flown to by an Airline.”

The record certificate was presented during Santiago’s Arturo Merino Benitez International Airport ceremony, marking the airline’s inaugural flight to Chile. Turkish Airlines executives and Guinness World Records officials were on hand for the celebration.

According to Guinness World Records, Turkish Airlines has earned the title by operating flights to 120 countries over the past 12 months. The airline’s global network currently covers 131 countries, including temporarily suspended routes and its new service to Chile.

Commenting on this achievement, Bilal Ekşi, CEO of Turkish Airlines, said, “We are delighted to be in Santiago, Chile, our newest route launched today, and to receive the Guinness World Records™ title for the Most Countries Flown to by an Airline. As the only airline to hold this distinction for over a decade, we proudly showcase the strength of our flight network and reinforce our mission to connect people, cultures, and destinations around the globe.”

Talal Omar, Vice President of Guinness World Records for the Middle East, North Africa, and Turkey, praised Turkish Airlines for setting new standards of excellence in the aviation industry through its commitment to global connectivity. He congratulated Turkish Airlines on its remarkable achievement, declaring it “Officially Amazing” for setting an exceptional record.
