Industry analysts predict Tesla will miss its Q4 2024 and full-year 2024 delivery targets.

According to Electrek on Tuesday, Tesla needs to sell 515,000 units in the fourth quarter of 2024 to achieve even a slight increase in sales compared to 2023. That would be more than the 476,000 units delivered in the same period in 2023, Tesla’s all-time quarterly delivery record. However, analysts predict that it will be difficult to sell that many units.

Tesla previously predicted Q4 of 2024 deliveries when it released its Q3 report in October 2024. The Q4 delivery estimate Tesla collected from 26 major analysts is 507,000 units. This would be a new delivery record for Tesla, but it would fall short of its delivery goal of 515,000 units and would likely miss its original full-year 2024 delivery forecast (a slight increase from 2023).

Electrek reported that after reviewing Tesla’s performance this quarter, it appears the company is faring well in its crucial Chinese market, yet it faces significant challenges in Europe. Additionally, Tesla has acknowledged that the Cybertruck is unlikely to contribute substantially to its growth and is planning to shift its focus towards more affordable electric vehicles.
