Kia’s popular mini-vehicle model, Morning, has been recognized as having the best value in the Chilean automobile market.

According to industry sources, the 2024 Morning recently won the Best Value Vehicle award at the Annual MT/Motor Awards, held on Sunday by La Tercera, a Santiago, Chilean daily newspaper.

The annual MT/Motor Awards is one of the Chilean local vehicle awards held annually. The judging panel consists of automotive media and panelists. At this awards ceremony, the Morning was evaluated as having a perfect combination of quality, design, technology, safety, and value.

“This award is a testament to Kia’s commitment to the Chilean market,” said Sebastián Miranda, Indumotora One Gerente de Marketing. “The Morning is one of Chile’s key local models and is loved by demanding Chilean drivers,” he added

The Morning consistently ranks in Chile’s top 10 best-selling vehicles. As of September 2024, it was ranked 7th, with 1,592 units sold. Its sales gap with the 6th-place Toyota Yaris (2,070 units) is 478.

Kia plans to expand its local sales in Chile, led by the Morning. The Chilean automobile market is expected to grow in 2025, so the company plans to drive demand.

Kia is also launching its first authentic pickup, the Kia Tasman (hereinafter referred to as Tasman), in the second half of 2025. Specific specifications, such as the Chilean sales price and whether the off-road-specific trim X-Pro will be included, will be revealed closer to the launch date. In addition to the Tasman, the launch of the facelift versions of Carens and EV3 is also being considered.
