Toyota’s Chinese subsidiary has introduced the bZ3X electric SUV to the Chinese market, as reported by InsideEV on Saturday.

The bZ3X was immediately successful, surpassing 10,000 orders within just one hour of its release. At 109,800 yuan (approximately $15,152), the vehicle is competitively priced against domestic Chinese electric vehicle(EV) brands, strengthening its market position.

The bZ3X features an advanced driver assistance system powered by the NVIDIA Drive AGX Orin X platform. This system integrates 11 cameras, 12 ultrasonic radars, one LiDAR, and a suite of 27 sensors. Its development comes amid intense competition to create more advanced driver assistance solutions suited to China’s complex traffic conditions.

The interior of the bZ3X adopts a minimalist design, resembling that of a California-based tech startup rather than Toyota’s conventional styling. At the center is a 14.7-inch touchscreen powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8155 chip. The vehicle also has a smart driving system developed by the Chinese autonomous driving startup Momenta. The system uses software such as the NVIDIA Drive Orin X chip, which can process up to 254 trillion operations per second.

The bZ3X has dimensions of 4,600 mm (181 inches) in length, 1,875 mm (74 inches) in width, and 1,645 mm (65 inches) in height, with a wheelbase of 2,765 mm (109 inches), making it similar in size to the Toyota RAV4. Standard features include rain-sensing wipers, power-adjustable side mirrors, integrated side airbags, a 360-degree panoramic camera, and a dual-zone heat pump air conditioning system. The vehicle offers three range options: 430 km (267 miles), 520 km (323 miles), and 610 km (379 miles).
