According to the police sources on the 14th, a call was made to emergency services (112) around 7 a.m. on the 11th, reporting that two dogs had fallen and died on the 9th floor of an apartment in Galsan-dong, Bupyeong-gu, Incheon.

A person believed to have made the report claimed on their Instagram, “A female dog groomer threw three dogs from the balcony window.”

They added, “Two of them fell onto a parked car and died instantly, and the surviving one was trembling around the apartment stairs in fear. The suspected woman lied to the police that she was experiencing hallucinations. Although the surviving dog appears unharmed externally, we are uncertain about the ordeal it endured, and therefore urge a thorough examination.”

Upon arrival at the scene, police officers confirmed the discovery of the dead bodies of two dogs.

The police are investigating the circumstances of the incident with a suspicious woman in her 40s, identified as A, who is believed to have thrown the dogs.

A police official said, “A is suspected of potentially suffering from a mental illness, so we took emergency hospitalization measures with the consent of her family.”

Under Article 10, Paragraph 1 of the current Animal Protection Act of Korea, anyone who kills an animal or causes it to die can be punished with imprisonment for up to 3 years or a fine of up to 30 million won (approximately $25,000).
