In China, three residents sleeping in an apartment died due to strong winds.

According to SHINE, in Nanchang, Jiangxi Province, Eastern China, two older adults and a child fell from an apartment damaged by strong winds. All three residents died on the morning of the March 31st.

According to the report, a total of four people died, and 12 were injured due to the strong winds.

The winds were powerful enough to rip out the entire apartment window. A grandmother in her 60s and her 11-year-old grandson, who were sleeping in an apartment, were blown out of the building, fell, and died.

Another woman in her 60s living in the apartment complex also fell outside and died.

The damage caused by the strong winds that day was immense. Videos shared on Chinese social media platforms, such as Weibo, showed that the windows of an apartment in a household were shattered as if they were bombed. As a result, an accident occurred where glass fell on a child who was lying down.

Early that day, torrential rains exceeding 50 mm per hour poured down. The wind speed reached 30 meters per second, equivalent to standing on the roof of a car running at 67 miles per hour.

The Chinese meteorological authority has issued a yellow storm warning in the southeastern region.
