An Indian travel influencer died after falling into a gorge while filming a video for Instagram.

According to CBS News, Aanvi Kamdar, a 27-year-old social media influencer from Mumbai, slipped while making a video at the Kumbhe Falls in Maharashtra. She fell approximately 300 feet into a gorge. Rescue teams immediately responded after the initial report. However, it took them about six hours to find Kamdar due to heavy rain and rugged terrain. Despite being rushed to the hospital after the incident, Kamdar passed away.

Formerly an accountant, Kamdar was a famous influencer with over 300,000 followers. Local officials in Maharashtra urged tourists to prioritize safety and avoid risky behaviors. This incident is not the first time influencers have faced tragedy while filming content. Gigi Wu, known as the “Bikini Climber,” died after falling into a valley in 2019. Additionally, in 2021, Hong Kong influencer Sophia Cheng lost her life after falling from a waterfall in Ha Pak Lai Park while taking a selfie.
