US authorities recommend immediate discontinuatin of mug use
Starbucks in the US conduct a massive recall- a whopping 440,000 mugs

News1

Yonhap News recently disseminated information sourced from an AP press release.

As per the report, a substantial quantity of Starbucks mugs has been subjected to recall in the United States.

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission recently announced an initiation of the recall process subsequent to receiving reports of incidents involving burns or heat injuries among users of Starbucks mugs.

These mugs, produced by Swiss food company Nestle, were retailed nationwide in the United States from November 2023 until January 2024. Investigations have ascertained the quantity of affected mugs to be 440,000, with a total of 12 reported incidents of burns recorded thus far.

During the aforementioned period, these mugs were retailed within the price range of $10 to $20 as part of various product packages.

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission has expounded on the rationale behind the recall, elucidating that the mugs present hazards of overheating or fracturing when subjected to microwave heating or filled with hot liquids, thereby potentially resulting in burns or heat injuries.

In light of these concerns, U.S. consumers are earnestly advised by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission to promptly cease utilization of the aforementioned mugs and undertake measures for their return to the point of purchase or directly contacting Nestle USA for a complete reimbursement.

Nestle has officially stated its commitment to undertaking immediate remedial actions following consumer reports and ensuring close collaboration with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission.
