A union is forming at Apple’s New Jersey store.
According to a member of the organizing committee on the 10th (local time), employees at the Apple store in Short Hills, New Jersey, have submitted a union representative application.
The store manager of the Short Hills location, who is also a member of the organizing committee, stated that Apple’s New Jersey store employees submitted a union representative application to the Communications Workers of America on April 8th.
The store manager said, “We have experienced our colleagues in Oklahoma City and Towson, Maryland, win with the union, and we know that every time a new store forms a union, we get stronger.”
Apple stated in an email, “We have always been paying high wages for our top-ranked stores and providing exceptional and comprehensive benefits to full-time and part-time employees.”
The first Apple store to form a union was in a store near Baltimore, Maryland, in June 2022.
On the other hand, Apple had previously been accused of obstructing the formation of a union at the Manhattan store but later denied it.
In addition to Apple Inc., major American corporations such as Starbucks, Amazon.com, and Microsoft Corporation are facing efforts by employees who want to improve working conditions to form unions.
