The American Airlines Group flight attendant union has called on its workers to prepare for a strike, as negotiations with the airline have failed to reach an agreement.
On May 31st, the Association of Professional Flight Attendants (APFA) declared that they were entirely at odds with the company due to demands about the schedule that they found entirely unacceptable.
“We believe that the National Mediation Board (NMB), which oversees the negotiations, will bring the parties together for a final effort within the next two weeks,” APFA added.
Furthermore, U.S. Congress members urged the NMB to take action so that approximately 80,000 flight attendants could secure contracts.
On the other hand, flight attendants from United Airlines, Alaska Airlines, American Airlines Group, and Frontier Airlines are just a few among dozens of airline employees still striving to reach new contract deals.
