Apple is expanding the availability of its mixed reality headset, Vision Pro, to eight other countries worldwide. However, South Korea is not included in this global launch.

During the 2024 World Developers Conference (WWDC) held in Cupertino, California, Tim Cook announced that the Vision Pro will launch in other major countries. Since its official launch in February, Vision Pro has been sold exclusively in the United States.

Apple plans to officially launch the Vision Pro in China, Hong Kong, Japan, and Singapore on the 28th and the pre-orders will be available from the 13th. On August 12, it will be released in Germany, France, Australia, the U.K., and Canada. The price starts from $3499. The Apple Vision Pro comes with VisionOS 1.2, which supports the languages of the respective countries. Cook noted, “I am excited to introduce the magic of spatial computing to more customers worldwide.”

On the same day, Apple also announced VisionOS 2.

Its intuitive tab-style gesture feature allows users to easily check the home view and important information at a glance. It also supports a virtual display in 4K resolution and curved widescreen format, offering an immersive experience as if you’re in a movie theater wherever you are.

It also focuses on supporting the use of spatial computation, such as converting 2D photos in the photo app into 3D spatial photos. VisionOS 2 will be provided as a free software update after the third quarter of this year.
