Hyundai Motor Group announced today that it won 17 awards at the 2024 Newsweek Auto Awards, hosted by Newsweek. This includes 6 awards for Hyundai, 8 for Kia, and 3 for Genesis.

Last year, at the Newsweek Auto Awards, Hyundai Motor Group received 11 awards (4 for Hyundai, 8 for Kia, and 1 for Genesis). This year’s 17 awards mark the highest number ever received.

Founded in 1933, Newsweek is a prominent weekly print magazine. This year, Newsweek updated its award categories, which were previously organized by vehicle type, to 13 categories based on psychographic criteria such as consumer purchasing behavior and lifestyle. The evaluation included all vehicles sold in the U.S. market this year, awarding the best vehicles and top picks in each category.

For Hyundai, the Elantra earned accolades as the Best Vehicle for First-time New Car Buyers and the Top Pick for Urbanites. The IONIQ 5 was recognized as the Top Pick for Tomorrow Seekers, Suburbanites, and New Parents. Meanwhile, the Ioniq 6 was the Top Pick for Tomorrow Seekers.

For Kia, the Sportage was named Best Vehicle for Commuters. The EV9 earned Top Picks for Tomorrow Seekers. The Seltos was selected as a Top Pick for First-Time Car Buyers. The Niro was also recognized as a Top Pick for Commuters. Both the Sorento and Carnival received Top Pick for Empty Nesters.

The Genesis GV80 was named the Top Pick for Single, Powerful Women, while the Electrified GV70 was chosen as the Top Pick for Goal Getters. The GV60 received the Top Pick for Tomorrow Seekers.

A representative from Hyundai Motor Group expressed pleasure that the product competitiveness of Hyundai, Kia, and Genesis has been recognized. They said they would continue offering excellent design, high quality, and performance vehicles to satisfy many customers.
