There’s no family car quite like this 2024 Nissan X-Trail N-Trek
The perfect SUV for a family

The 2024 Nissan X-Trail N-Trek has revitalized Nissan’s family SUV lineup, moving it from stagnation to standout. This new model delivers significant upgrades, especially in design and performance, making it a top choice for families seeking both style and practicality.

The N-Trek trim has come a long way since its limited-edition days in previous generations. This year’s model boasts a rugged yet refined look, with a new front bumper featuring a faux skid plate, blacked-out grille, and redesigned fog light trim. The exterior is further enhanced by blacked-out side mirrors, roof rails, and roof, giving the vehicle a sophisticated, bold feel. The 18-inch alloy wheels with black and silver spokes perfectly complement the new, more muscular design, while the fresh rear bumper completes the look. The ceramic gray test model we drove exemplified the X-Trail’s tough yet stylish personality.

Practical, Upscale Interior

Inside, the X-Trail N-Trek strikes a balance between luxury and practicality. The starting price of AU$50,740 ($32,415) is justified by using soft black leather and brown accents across the dashboard and door panels. The materials used are both elegant and durable, with tactile satisfaction in key touchpoints. The 12.3-inch digital display in front of the driver and a matching infotainment screen at the center provide modern tech without compromising usability. While wireless Apple CarPlay is standard, Android Auto only supports wired connections, and a panoramic sunroof and digital rearview mirror are notably absent. Despite these minor setbacks, the cabin exudes an upscale vibe perfect for long drives or daily commutes.

Smooth Driving Experience with Impressive Comfort

The X-Trail N-Trek’s 2.5L naturally aspirated 4-cylinder engine is standard, producing 181 horsepower and 244Nm of torque. Combined with a CVT transmission, this engine provides a smooth, quiet ride and delivers practical performance. It also has an advantage in terms of maintenance costs as it does not require premium fuel.

The ride and steering feel are also impressive. The dual-pinion electronic steering is very light and precise, and the suspension provides excellent stability even on bumpy roads. In particular, the N-Trek’s Bridgestone Alenza Sports A/S tires performed well in grip and noise, providing a satisfactory driving experience.

Practicality and versatility
A new standard for family SUVs

Available in five- and seven-seat versions, the N-Trek is a family-focused SUV with plenty of space and practicality. The third row of seats is cramped for adults but perfect for kids and costs an extra AU$3,000 (about $1,917). The five-seat option may be a wiser choice in terms of value. All N-Trek models also come standard with Nissan’s ProPilot driver assistance features.

This system, which includes adaptive cruise control, lane centering, and road sign recognition, provides excellent convenience when driving on the highway. The ability to tow up to 2 tons also adds to its versatility. The 2024 Nissan X-Trail N-Trek is priced from about AU$38,990 (about $24,909) to AU$59,990 (about $38,325) and boasts excellent cost-effectiveness and completeness among SUVs in this segment (Mid-size). If you are looking for a family SUV, this model is definitely worth considering.
