Mazda RX-7 Group B Rally Car
Recently Auctioned, One of 19 Units
The Mazda RX-7 Group B rally car is up for auction. In the 1980s, many European brands achieved remarkable Group B rally series results. Mazda made a name for itself by producing its own Group B vehicles. This time, the RX-7 that is up for auction is one of only 19 vehicles produced.
During Group B, European brands such as Audi, Lancia, MG, and Renault achieved strong results and produced legendary rallying models. Mazda launched a Group B car based on the first generation RX-7, and unsurprisingly, the model went relatively unnoticed compared to its competitors at the time.

The engine location has been moved back about 100 mm (4 inches) to improve handling and further enhance driving performance.
