Audi has revealed the pricing for the 2025 A5 in the U.S. market, reflecting its enhanced performance and sophisticated design. Starting at $48,995, the A5 is priced $3,600 higher than the current entry-level A4. This increase comes as Audi merges the A4 and A5 into a more unified lineup rather than making a simple generational shift.

S5 Pricing and Performance Expectations

While Audi has yet to announce the exact price for the high-performance S5 model, it’s expected to be above $60,000. For reference, the previous S4 was priced at $56,195, so the new S5 will likely carry a higher premium.

A4 Phased Out, A5 Takes Over—But Performance Faces Criticism

Since last year, Audi has been restructuring its lineup, phasing out the A4, and launching the new A5. The new A5’s 2.0L turbocharged 4-cylinder engine generates 268 horsepower and 295 lb-ft of torque.

The time to reach 60 miles per hour (about 96.6 km) from a standstill has decreased by 0.2 seconds to 5.4 seconds despite a slight increase in output and torque over the current A4.

Changes in transmission settings and an increase in vehicle weight cause this. All-season run-flat tires and 18-inch wheels come standard, with the option of 19-inch wheels.

S5 Performance and Weight Concerns

The high-performance S5 model’s output is marginally higher than the previous model’s, with 362 horsepower and 406 lb-ft (roughly 56.1 kg m) of torque. However, compared to the current S4, the four-door model weighs 419 pounds (about 190 kg).

This weight gain could impact acceleration and handling. The standard wheels are 19 inches, but there are options for 20-inch wheels and a sports suspension that reduces the ride height by 0.79 inches (roughly 2 cm).

Trim Prices and Launch Details

Although Audi has not yet disclosed the exact pricing for all trims, some information has surfaced. For example, the 2025 A5 Prestige trim in “Horizon Blue Metallic” with the 19-inch wheel package is priced at $56,840. More details will be released closer to the vehicle’s official launch, which Audi confirms will happen before the year’s second quarter.
