Tom Holland Scared to Leave Marvel and Finds Acting Hard Outside It

tvreport Views

Hollywood actor Tom Holland (27) has opened up about the complex emotions he experienced when stepping outside the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) to explore new genres.

In an interview with the American pop culture outlet The Hollywood Reporter on the 10th (local time), Holland confessed to the difficulties he faced while working outside the MCU.

Holland expressed, “I always felt protected within the walls of Marvel and Spider-Man. So, venturing into a new genre was incredibly scary. But because it was scary, I also felt a sense of accomplishment and reward.”

He recently garnered attention for his role as Danny Sullivan in the Apple TV+ series ‘The Crowded Room’. Holland revealed that he had a challenging time portraying a character diagnosed with Dissociative Identity Disorder, a condition frequently featured in content about multiple personalities.

Holland shared, “The role I took on in ‘The Crowded Room’ was very intense and mentally draining, so I took a short break after filming,” sharing his thoughts on the difficulties of taking on new challenges.

Meanwhile, having joined the MCU with ‘Spider-Man: Homecoming’ (2017), Holland starred in ‘Spider-Man: Far From Home’ (2019), and ‘Spider-Man: No Way Home’ (2021). Although the Spider-Man series was originally a trilogy, it was announced that an additional trilogy is being added, making it six parts in total.

However, Holland’s camp has yet to confirm his participation in ‘Spider-Man 4’. Even when the production of ‘Spider-Man 4’ was announced, Holland’s appearance was considered a foregone conclusion. Still, he is cautious about his return, drawing everyone’s attention to his possible return to the MCU.
