A passenger who took a rest in the overhead bin of an airplane sparked an online debate.
A video of a woman lying in the airplane’s overhead bin was recorded on TikTok and garnered over 5.1 million views.
The incident was reported to have been witnessed on a Southwest Airlines flight from Albuquerque, New Mexico, to Phoenix, Arizona, on the 6th.
Monique Guzman posted the video and reported seeing “a person’s head sticking out from the overhead bin.” She added, “Other passengers were just passing by without giving it a second thought, even though the woman was lying there.” The incident was finally resolved when a crew member discovered the passenger before takeoff.
This incident mirrored a similar one on the same airline in 2019, leading to humorous comments online. Some joked, “On Southwest Airlines, you can choose your seat,” and another added, “It looks much more comfortable than the actual seat. Give her a pillow and close the hatch.”
