BTS Jin Marks Military Service Anniversary with Moments of Joy and Sorrow

tvreport Views

Today marks one year since BTS’s Jin began his military service, captivating fans worldwide. Surprisingly, he only has 6 months left until he completes his service, with an expected discharge date of June 12, 2024.

Jin enlisted on December 13 of last year at the 5th Infantry Division’s new recruit training center located in Yeoncheon, Gyeonggi Province. During his five weeks of basic military training, he was selected as the representative training soldier for his company, recommended by fellow trainees, instructors, and officers.

Five weeks later, at the completion ceremony, Jin took the lead with a resounding voice as the battalion’s trainee representative. Subsequently, he continued his service as an instructor in that training division, specializing in his assigned role.

Throughout his service, Jin has been recognized as an outstanding soldier in various evaluations, including physical strength, mental strength, and chemical, biological, and radiological defense, and was selected as a ‘special force’, resulting in an early promotion. Recently, he continued with his ‘special force’ title and currently holds the rank of corporal, achieving a remarkable early promotion by four months.

Jin has been the subject of many anecdotes during his military service, as he has done an excellent job educating his fellow soldiers and trainees as an instructor.

As an instructor, he has never gotten angry, bought snacks for trainees multiple times, marched carrying the bags of dismissed trainees, and even gifted cosmetics to the families of trainees who were exempted from service. Various positive anecdotes like these have emerged. Netizens praised him, describing his military service as ‘world-class.

Following Jin, BTS members J-Hope, Suga, RM, V, Jimin, and Jungkook enlisted on the 11th and 12th, respectively. Notably, Jimin and Jungkook entered the training center where Jin serves as an instructor. The three, who were BTS members, are likely to reunite in the military as an instructor and trainees.

Their emotions are mixed with six months left until discharge for Jin and 18 months for Jimin and Jungkook. Jin himself has been teasing his fellow member’s enlistment, engaging in what’s known as ‘Latte Talk’. However, he showed his loyalty by taking leave to see off his fellow members enlisting.

BTS has officially entered the ‘military hiatus’. Regrettably, for about six months, we won’t be able to see any full group activities or even individual activities of BTS. However, Jin has about six months left until his discharge. He is expected to bring joy to fans as the first member to be discharged.

We can expect to see BTS as a complete group after June of next year. Expectations are high for BTS to return as wonderful men after their healthy discharge.
